Too Many People. The Root Issue That Nobody Addresses.

I spend time watching the news, listening to the politicians spin their yarns that they would like us to accept as accurate, and generally observing people and what is going on in the country and the world.

Through these observations and years of life experience, I have come up with a theory that I think is an accurate way to describe the root of most of the issues that confront us in todays world. The biggest issue we are facing is there are too many people on this planet.

Politicians in Canada, and I assume in other parts of the world, try to convince us that their temporary and band-aid solutions are going to fix everything. However, realistically, they haven’t got a clue and are simply trying to appease the public and keep us comfortable enough to place them back into power come the next election. When in fact, they will just continue on with the same garbage policies and continue to live a lavish lifestyle while the rest of us pay for it and continue to let them manipulate us. A disgusting example of this is the fact that Justin Trudeau somehow was the Prime Minister of Canada for 10 years. In what other universe populated by intelligent beings would this be allowed to happen?

Also contributing to the issue is the fact that people, in general, are sheep. Whether influence comes from a political, religious, cultural, family, or gender based perspective, people will adopt the most ridiculous ideas and follow the most entitled and selfish groups or individuals.

If we are not there yet, we are getting close to a time when there will not be enough resources left or enough room left to support and accommodate all of the people that now exist and are being brought into this world on a daily basis. This is very concerning.

One solution, which I would consider reasonable, is to put a limit on the number of children that families are allowed to have. A one to one ratio would be a great solution. A family with two parents could have two children. This would keep the population at a steady rate. Instead, for example, if a family, or thousands of families have four children, you are doubling the population for each generation. This is no longer sustainable.

Here is where the problems arise. Whether it be family influence, religious or cultural belief or pressure, or those individuals that believe it is their personal mission to populate the planet, people are selfish and have become entitled. The old adage, what’s good for the many outweighs what is good for the one has not been adhered to for quite some time. Can you imagine the outpour of outrage if this idea was introduced and the powers that be attempted to implement it? There would be outcries that peoples reproductive rights were being trampled, their human rights were being infringed upon as well as their freedom of choice and any other perceived rights they think they are entitled to. The bleeding hearts would be protesting at every college, university and government building.

To provide some contrast, people turn a blind eye to the reality that there are millions of people that don’t have enough to eat each day. There are thousands killed in wars and conflicts. There are countries that are grossly overpopulated and then people believe they have the right to immigrate to other countries and start the same trend there. In Canada, we have had too many immigrants allowed into the country over the past five to ten years. Again, Justin Trudeau and the Liberals. Go figure. As long as these things are not happening in someone’s backyard, people don’t appear to care until it affects them directly. It is sad to think that people in general prefer these types of things as population control rather than limiting the number of children that each individual can have. Again, selfish.

When people hear about near extinction events being inevitable, it is just a theory to them and they carry on with their day. Again, as long as it doesn’t affect them directly.

Regardless of your belief system, be it religion or mother nature. I feel we have been given warnings. History has shown us that if we abuse the planet too much, there will be consequences. The covid 19 pandemic was an example of that. If we don’t wake up and smell the coffee, I anticipate something much worse is on the horizon at some point in the not too distant future. My hope is, and this will sound a little selfish, it will not happen during my lifetime.

For those of you that believe you have the right to have 3,4,5, or 6 children, perhaps give it some thought and perhaps you can bring your self to see it from a different perspective.
